How to create a jelly UI effect in After Effects

after effects Jun 20, 2019

If you’ve already watched my first tutorial on UI jelly, you’ll be pleased because this one offers something a little different. There are fundamentally two different ‘UI jelly’ treatments I’ve come across.

Here are some references that illustrate what I mean by ‘jelly.’ This lesson is quick and dirty and goes into the setup of this effect. We use adjustment layers, the blur effect, and the ‘simple matt choker’ effect. This technique couldn’t be simpler and there are a ton of great possibilities.

If you’re looking to pick up the super dope Material Design UI kit that I’m using in this tutorial, you can grab it here.
